Our Story

Born From a Love
of Wild Africa

Sweet Safaris was born on a dusty track in the Serengeti in 2009, when our founder Amara Kileo watched a pride of lions hunt at dusk and decided the world needed to witness this magic — privately, sustainably, and without compromise.

Today, we are 40 expert guides, 12 lodge partners, and one unwavering belief: that Africa is best experienced slowly, deeply, and with someone who grew up hearing the thunder of the great migration.

Five commitments that define every journey we craft.

01

Expert Local Guides

Our 40 certified guides have an average of 12 years in the field. They know when the leopard will descend from that acacia. They speak the language of the bush. Many were born within 100km of the parks they lead.

Fully Private & Custom Itineraries

No group tours. No shared vehicles. Your safari is engineered around your pace, your interests, your family. We've built itineraries for wildlife photographers, honeymoon couples, and grandparents traveling with grandchildren.

Luxury Eco-Camps & Lodges

We partner exclusively with lodges that have earned Travelife certification and go beyond it. Solar-powered, water-recycling, community-hiring — beautiful by design, responsible by conviction.

3% of every booking funds our reforestation program in the Usambara Mountains. We partner with African Wildlife Foundation and Honeyguide Foundation. Traveling with us means the land gets more alive, not less.

Real Voices From The Wild

"Standing at the edge of Ngorongoro Crater with Abdallah, our guide, I understood for the first time what it means to feel small in the best possible way. Sweet Safaris didn't just plan a holiday. They changed how I see the world."

Everything You Need to Know

June–October is peak dry season and the Great Migration peaks July–September. January–March is calving season in the Serengeti — equally spectacular and less crowded. We advise avoiding April–May (long rains).
For peak season (July–September), we recommend 8–12 months in advance, particularly for exclusive mobile camps. Off-peak bookings can often be arranged with 2–3 months' notice. Contact us to check availability.
We accept international bank transfer (SWIFT), Visa/Mastercard, American Express, PayPal, and for Tanzanian clients: M-Pesa, Airtel Money, HaloPesa, and Pesapal. A 30% deposit secures your booking; balance due 60 days before departure.
Absolutely. We offer dedicated family safari itineraries with minimum age of 6 years. We partner with camps that provide junior ranger programs, child-safe vehicles, and family tents with separate sleeping areas.
Most nationalities require a visa, easily obtained as an e-Visa at immigration.go.tz (approximately $50 USD). East African citizens enjoy visa-free or visa-on-arrival access. We provide a full pre-arrival briefing.
Light neutral-colored clothing (khaki, olive, beige — avoid white and bright colors). Layers for cool mornings. Sunscreen SPF 50+. A good camera with telephoto lens. Comfortable walking shoes. We provide a detailed packing list with your booking confirmation.
Yes — every Sweet Safaris journey is custom-built. We start with a 30-minute consultation call to understand your dream trip, then our senior guide Abdallah and the planning team design an itinerary uniquely yours. No extra charge for bespoke design.
Tanzania consistently ranks as one of Africa's safest tourist destinations. Our guides carry full first aid certification, we use reliable 4WD vehicles serviced every 5,000km, and all camps have emergency satellite communication. We brief clients on all protocols before departure.
